Hey there hero! Below is a list of the common troubleshooting steps our team recommends for heroes looking to take matters into their own hands:
- Fully power cycle your headset.
This can be done by unplugging the headset from its power supply if one exists, turning the headset off and waiting 30 seconds, then powering it back on. - Ensure you are on the latest software.
For both your headset and any additional device you may be using for streaming Pistol Whip. - If playing from the Oculus or Steam Store, ensure your OpenXR setting is set to the right platform.
How Do I Set My OpenXR Setting?
For the SteamVR Version of Pistol Whip:
This can be done by going into SteamVR > Settings > Developer > Set OpenXR to Steam
For the Oculus Version of Pistol Whip:
This can be done by going into the Oculus Store > Settings > General > 'Set Oculus as Active' - Reinstall Pistol Whip to clear up any corrupted files.
Please note, by reinstalling Pistol Whip you may lose your gun customization and campaign progress. All your scores, however, will remain.
For PlayStation users, you may need to manually delete your Pistol Whip save files as well. Go to Settings > Saved Data and Game/App Settings to do this. Select Saved Data (PS5) or Saved Data (PS4). Select Console Storage > Delete. Tick the box next to the Pistol Whip files you want to delete and select Delete.
