Hey there, Action Hero!
If you found your controllers are missing when launching Pistol Whip, please perform the below troubleshooting steps as a first step in getting your controllers back:
- If your controllers can be turned on and off, as a first step, please fully power cycle your controllers.
- Fully power cycle your headset.
This can be done by unplugging the headset from its power supply (if it has one), powering it off, waiting 30 seconds, then plugging it back in. - Ensure you are on the latest software for your headset
Make sure any additional device you may be using to stream Pistol Whip is also up to date. - If playing from the Oculus or Steam Store, ensure your OpenXR setting is set to the right platform.
How Do I Set My OpenXR Setting?
For the SteamVR Version of Pistol Whip:
This can be done by going into SteamVR > Settings > Developer > Set OpenXR to Steam
For the Oculus Version of Pistol Whip:
This can be done by going into the Oculus Store > Settings > General > 'Set Oculus as Active' - If on Steam, disable the SteamVR setting 'Pause VR when headset is idle"
This can be found in SteamVR Settings > Video > 'Pause VR when headset is idle'
