If you’re looking for tips and tricks to jumpstart your Action Hero career, look no further! Below we will explain everything you need to know to get started.
Lobby Screens
When you first launch Pistol Whip, and shoot the START button, you will then be greeted by a great hall and three menus, from left to right are Styles, Scenes, and Scores Menu.
Styles
Located to your left in the lobby, the Styles Menu allows players to further customize their experience with modifiers. There are two sections to this menu, Browse and Customize:
Browse:
Access a range of predetermined modifier combos under the Browse section of the Styles System!
Customize:
Create your own unique modifier combos under the Customize section of the Styles System!
Scenes
To your front is the Scenes menu, displaying all of the game modes available to Action Heroes:
Arcade:
From the Arcade Menu, you can take on a wide range of scenarios to the beat of heart-pounding tracks. Select your scenario, choose your difficulty, and jump into the fight!
Cinematic Campaigns:
Take on the dystopian robopacalypse as John Asimov or fight off bandits in the wild west as Jessie in the thrilling cinematic narrative campaigns of 2089 and Smoke & Thunder.
Contracts:
Take on limited-time Contracts and build your Career in the Contracts Tab!
Party Mode:
Take on personalized challenges alongside your friends and family in this Local Mode.
Training:
Learn the basics of what it takes to be a seasoned Hero in Training Mode.
Scores
Last but not least, to your right, you can access the leaderboards through the Scores Menu. Below are all of the leaderboards available to view:
World Top:
Displays all scores made by Action Heroes.
World Self:
Displays where you are in the global leaderboards.
Friends:
Displays all scores made by you and your friends.
Local:
Displays all scores made on your headset.
Diving Into The Action!
Once an Action Hero dives into their chosen Style and Scene, they will need to quickly adapt to the Scene unfolding before them while taking out enemies! Below are all the actions needed to make it through a scenario:
Dodge:
Dodge incoming bullets by moving your head left, right, up, or down.
Duck and Weave:
Duck and weave your head around obstacles as they appear.
Reload:
Aim your weapon at the floor to reload ammo. Want to change this? You can do this in your Settings menu! Check out the Settings article here to see all of the Settings options available.
Recover Armour:
Take out enemies to restore your armour.
Points System
As you play, the world will pulse to the beat of the music playing. Achieve higher scores by timing your shots with the beat and aiming accurately at your enemies. Every shot fired from a weapon has a chance to earn a total of 200 points that will go toward your final score.
Play Your Way
Last but not least, have fun! Pistol Whip is designed to be played in many different ways, with in-game modifiers allowing you to alter how you play the game. Every modifier combo has unique leaderboards, so you can compete against players playing the same way you do.
