What Determines Your Score?
Hey there, Action Hero! This article will cover how the scoring system works to help you climb the ranks.
The total score of a Scene is broken down into two parts, the first being accuracy and the second being timing or rhythm. Each shot fired from a weapon can earn a maximum of 200 points that will go toward your final score.
Accuracy
Up to 100 points are awarded per shot depending on how much aim assistance was needed, with 100 points meaning no assistance was needed.
On-Beat
Up to 100 points are awarded per shot depending on how close to the beat your weapon was fired at.
Multipliers
The multiplier off to your right on the HUD shows your current score multiplier. As you shoot enemies successfully, your multiplier will increase! Be careful though; if you get damaged, the multiplier will reduce by one (1) value. For example, if your multiplier is at 8x and you get hit, your multiplier will go down to 4x.
Pistol Whipping
Pistol Whipping has its own scoring system and special benefits listed below:
- Pistol Whipping an enemy always awards the maximum potential points they can give, regardless of timing
- Pistol Whipping an enemy fully restores all levels of health
- Pistol Whipping an enemy reloads ammo
Colours and Symbols
Every shot that lands on an enemy will generate a floating number with a coloured backing that will go toward your final score. Symbols will also be present to reflect if you were accurate or on-beat with your shot. Below we break these down:
Black Backing: If the backing behind your score is black, your accuracy and beat timing can be improved.
Gold Backing: If the backing behind your score is gold, the timing, and accuracy were excellent.
On-Beat Symbol: Your shot was on-beat with the music.
Accuracy Symbol: Your shot was accurate and required little to no aim assistance.
Finding the Beat
While there are no direct notifications to let you know when something will be on beat, the world will give hints to the timing by gently pulsing to the beat of the music. Having trouble finding the beat? Try enabling ‘Metronome haptics’ in the controller settings.
